In Southeast Kenya we partner with a a child rescue center that provides family-style care for children who are orphaned and those living in extreme poverty. The children suffer from abandonment and neglect, sometimes even raising younger siblings on their own. They often require special medical care due to HIV or physical disabilities. Providing basic care, such as clean water and proper nutrition, is a challenge due to the severe drought conditions they’re fighting in their community.
We have begun a child sponsorship program for just $35 per month which provides for their basic needs – food, clothing, education and medical care. Most importantly, sponsorships build lasting relationships with the child and their sponsor. Once the children are restored to health and enrolled in school, transformational change begins and they start to believe there are greater things for their life!
